How to make the most of life with coaching
Life may very well be like a box of chocolates, but that doesn’t mean you have to accept that you’ll never know what you’re going to get. Choose the right box and you’ll be fairly certain what’s coming your way. For many of us life can feel more like a roller coaster, and while there are plenty of good times there are also periods of feeling like we’re lurching from disaster to crisis and back again. Taking control of your life is not always an easy task. In recent years, life coaches like Sanjay Jain, have become all the rage for those looking to improve their life experience and take control of their lives. So what are the inside secrets of effective life coaching?
Journey planning
There’s something that we all have to admit at one point or another; life is not an indefinite state. It’s very much like a journey but unlike most journeys, we don’t plan it terribly well. Many of us drift through life without a direction, and one important area of life coaching is the technique of introducing planning of life destinations into this process. Creating a destination (or a goal) in life helps you to focus and motivate yourself, whilst talking this through with another person can help establish clear objectives in the journey towards each goal. Although there’s only one final destination in life, it’s often helpful to add a few calling points along the way.
Beyond planning
Most people don’t take this approach to life and that’s partly because we don’t always understand how important it can be to do so or the positive outcomes it can achieve. It’s perfectly possible to live a life without goals but this rarely leads to success. Planning is part of the process of coaching but most of us can plan reasonably effectively on our own. The second part of the process is implementation and motivation, and this is where many fail. A coach provides ongoing support, motivation, encouragement and the occasional reminder when we lose track of our aims.
A second opinion
Do you need a coach? It’s perfectly possible to set goals and work towards them without a coaching professional in tow. However, an outside view of our hopes, dreams and aspirations can be invaluable in evaluating them (and our own skills). While steely determination and rock-solid will power can help, it’s this ‘second opinion’ and the expert guidance that coaches can offer that is responsible for making them so popular and that also brings such excellent results.
